Largemouth and Smallmouth Seminars

Largemouth Bass

I offer several different seminars on largemouth bass. The most popular is a complete rundown on how to find largemouths. Let's face it: For too many fly fishers, the main challenge is figuring out where the fish are. This seminar shows the where, why, and how of finding bass in lakes and ponds.

Other largemouth seminars include:

  • Advanced Bass Bugging--Move beyond the basics of pounding shorelines with topwaters. Explore the patterns, tackle, and techniques that will let you fly fish for bass under almost any conditions.

  • Subsurface Solutions--Fly fishers are no longer stuck with traditional streamers. Here's a bunch of innovative fly patterns for subsurface bass fishing, and instruction on how and when to fish these flies.

Smallmouth Bass

The smallmouth is my favorite fish. I offer two smallmouth seminars:

  • Finding and Fishing for Smallmouths--An in-depth how-to session in reading the water in lakes and rivers. Covers typical smallmouth hangouts, and the best flies and techniques to use in each situation.

  • Advanced Smallmouth Patterns and Techniques--Showcases the best smallmouth flies and some of the special techniques you can use to catch even the most finicky fish.

I charge $350 per seminar, plus expenses. All of these seminars include a slide presentation and a tying demonstration afterwards.
