Link-O-Rama

Lots of people consider the Web to be a vast wasteland dotted with occasional islands of reasonably good stuff. I'm one of those people. Here are some of the islands that I've found to be worthwhile.

Crass Commercialism

I try to keep this stuff to a dull roar, but I have to make a living, too.

Speakers Bureau
Looking for someone to speak before your fishing club or organization? We have a large roster of well-known fishing and fly-fishing experts who will be happy to put on a presentation for you and your organization.

Buy My Book
You really do need several copies of Bass Bug Basics. Buy 'em by the case! If you would like to buy a signed copy direct from me, drop me an email.

I do seminars for clubs, and the price is right!

Warmwater Sites

Waterside MB
Even the Canadians are getting into the act! This is a new site, and well worth a look.

The Bass Pond
Some very interesting stuff here. Make sure you check out the radical bass flies--the Wee Bonney Lizard should be in the box of every serious bass bugger.

Fly Anglers Online
A good general fly-fishing site. The warmwater forum in the bulletin boards is an excellent resource and community.

Texas Fly Report
The view from the South. The state's tourism slogan used to be, "Texas: It's like a whole other country." This prompted a friend of mine to quip, "Yeah, and thank God they're on our side." If you're planning on fishing in Texas--or you'd just like to peruse some of the fly patterns that are getting hits down there--check out this site.

River Smallies
One of the best sites for smallmouth bass info I've come across.

Warmwater Angler
Recently revamped--check it out!

Warmwater Fly Fisher
A good effort and a site I need to explore more thoroughly. Lots and lots of interesting stuff here.

The Bug Shopper

Sometimes the hunt for quality bugs can be frustrating. As we know, there's all sorts of garbage being peddled. Boogle Bug is a relatively new company, and I like the way their bugs look.

Boogle Bug

I'll have a full report after fishing a couple of them this summer.

My Friends Are Guides

I only wish I could afford to fish with guides more often than I do. Most of the guides listed here are friends of mine, and they're damn good guides, too. Tell 'em I sent you and they'll add an extra 25% to their day rates.

Capt. Rick DePaiva
Rick is a saltwater guide who operates out of Ft. Myers, Florida (where I seem to spend an inordinate amount of time some years). If you want to catch BIG snook, Rick's the man. I'd swear he knows every snook within 20 miles of Ft. Myers on a first-name basis.

Capt. Blake Matherly
Blake is another member of the Ft. Myers guide contingent. Ask him about some of our misadventures and he'll double his day rate before he accepts your booking.

Robb Woodruff
You want big ol' bass? Book Robb for a trip on Lake Fork or one of the many other waters he guides on. Make sure you poke through his fly box--you'll be amazed at some of the innovative patterns he uses.

Steve Kanter
Steve doesn't guide much any more, but he does take occasional bookings for his unique Florida Everglades fishing. I can't begin to describe the fishing that Steve can put you on to. It's unlike anything you've ever seen or done.
